Rio Tinto reported a 61% year-on-year rise in diamond production in 2025, with total output reaching 4.43 million carats, supported by improved operational performance across the year.
In the fourth quarter of 2025, diamond production stood at 1.11 million carats, up 43% compared with Q4 2024. However, output was marginally lower than the previous quarter, easing by about 2% from 1.14 million carats produced in Q3 2025, as reflected in the production summary data.
On the exploration front, Rio Tinto continues work on the Chiri diamond project in Angola, which forms part of its wider portfolio of early-stage exploration activities across multiple commodities and geographies.
