GJEPC organised an Export Facilitation Seminar in Rajkot on 26th February 2026 to build export awareness and provide practical guidance to trade members and MSMEs seeking to enter or expand in global markets. The seminar brought together key government authorities and industry stakeholders to simplify export procedures, explain incentive frameworks, and highlight emerging opportunities for regional manufacturers.
Shri Rohit Soni, I.T.S., Joint DGFT, Rajkot, outlined various DGFT export schemes and incentives available to exporters, while Shri Bhavesh Kubavat, Inspector of Post, Rajkot HPO, presented India Post’s export and Dak Niryat Kendra (DNK) logistics solutions designed to support small exporters. Shri M.K. Ladani, General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC) Rajkot, spoke about government assistance programmes and MSME incentive schemes relevant to the sector.
A key highlight of the seminar was the session by Shri Mithilesh Pandey, Senior Director, GJEPC, who provided a comprehensive overview of the Council’s role as the apex body for promoting gem and jewellery exports. His presentation covered end-to-end support available for new exporters and MSMEs, including compliance facilitation such as IEC registration, Customs KYC, AD Bank procedures, and ICEGATE onboarding.
The session also focused on emerging export avenues through e-commerce channels, free trade agreements (FTAs), and participation in international exhibitions and business delegations. Participants were briefed on infrastructure and capacity-building initiatives, including Common Facility Centres (CFCs) and Mega CFC projects, along with opportunities available through GJEPC’s flagship exhibitions such as IIJS Tritiya. Guidance on participation benefits and financial support available to exhibitors was also shared.
The seminar witnessed strong participation from the local trade community. Against an initial plan for 80 attendees, the event drew more than 120 participants, with the venue reaching full capacity. The interactive Q&A session that followed reflected strong interest among aspiring exporters seeking clarity on processes and market entry strategies.
