GJEPC has launched the Parichay Card initiative with a view to ensure proper authentication of gem and jewellery workers for social security purposes.

• The objective is to create a comprehensive, verified database of gem and jewellery workers to provide them better job opportunities; to help them get financial support from banks and financial institutions, and provide better healthcare services through a free/subsidised health insurance plan.
• The Parichay Card has a unique number for each worker and will be a valid proof of employment and identity and would also make them eligible for various initiatives and benefits.

HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY BENEFIT

All Parichay Card holders will get a free one-time health insurance policy of Sum Assured Rs. 35,000 completely free of cost. The insurance premium is funded from a specially created CSR fund called Swasthya Kosh.

This benefit is subject to availability of funds in the Swasthya Kosh and will be allotted on first cum first serve basis based on minimum issuance of at least 500 Parichay Cards per association. Further it is applicable only for contracted workers who are not employees of any company.

Parichay Card holders will also have an option at the time of enrolment to opt for an additional and optional health insurance of sum assured Rs. 1,00,000 at highly subsidized rates specially designed for artisans and their families (spouse and two children).
